Forest Meditation From Above

Here is another five minute nature video for meditation or relaxing. Try just watching and listening whenever stress builds up during the day. “Forest Meditation From Above” features video of Central Florida’s forest from a hot air balloon. Just click on the photo above to play the video.

Even quick meditations have been proven to produce very real positive physical effects. Reduced blood pressure, lowered heart rate and lowered respiration rate are some of the more apparent physical results of meditating. Lower serum stress hormones and less systemic inflammation are less apparent effects but just as important. Clearer thinking and greater concentration both increase with accumulated meditation time.

Just being out in nature has similar but less pronounced effects on our bodies and minds. Something as simple as petting a dog or cat or other animal produces positive physical and mental results that science cannot explain. I decided a long time ago that it was a losing proposition to try to fight the way the world works because I did not understand why. If something works, and we know it works, it is not necessary to understand why it works to reap the benefits.

A healthy mind is just as important as a healthy body. One can’t be fully enjoyed without the other. Think of meditation and relaxation as the healthy whole food diet for the mind. Controlling stress and staying relaxed increase creativity and keep depression at bay.
