Hospitals Are Dangerous Places

Coconut oil is a healthy fat that promotes health and can prevent hospital stays as part of a healthy whole food diet.

Hospitals in the United States are dangerous places. One of my personal prime motivations for eating a healthy whole food based diet is to avoid hospitals and treatment by mainstream medical care in general. Maintaining optimum health is the surest and cheapest way to achieve this goal.

Fresh fruits are just as important to a healthy whole food diet as vegetables.

Why do I believe that hospitals are dangerous? There are many reasons for this belief and they are all easily found with a simple on-line search. A few important facts about hospitals should be known by everyone:

*Last year nearly 200,000 people died while in a hospital in the United States because of medical mistakes. In 1998 this number was 98,000. The cause of these deaths had nothing to do with the reason these people went to the hospital.

*More and more tests and procedures are being performed during hospital stays that are unnecessary and unrelated to the admitting condition, greatly increasing the chances of complications and death.

*There is no comprehensive nation-wide system in place(as there is for the transportation industry) to make sure that the mainstream medical industry learns from its mistakes and corrects systemic problems leading to those mistakes. Doctors that make mistakes are usually allowed to keep practicing without penalty.
*During training doctors are surrounded by a culture that believes in keeping quiet about medical mistakes and the people responsible for them. Doctors known to make repeated mistakes are not reported but knowingly protected.
*The two leading causes of preventable death during hospital stays are deep-vein thrombosis and pulmonary embolism. Both of these types of blood clots have known causes with known and effective methods of prevention.
stir fry, wok, fresh vegetables

Stir frying fresh vegetables in a wok minimizes nutrient loss and adds variety to make a healthy diet more sustainable over the long term.

Taking all of the above factors into account, my personal choice is to avoid hospital stays whenever possible. Achieving this goal means staying healthy and staying healthy means eating a healthy nutritious diet and living a health-promoting lifestyle. Doing these two things involves minimal effort and quickly becomes habit. The alternative is becoming a statistic that most people will never know about. I don’t want to be a dead statistic.
